In recent weeks, Prof. Argárate has been speaking at a number of international events:
The Centro Culturale Francescano. Sezioni die Studii Copti in Cairo held a conference on “The Historic Sources of the Christians of the Middle East” from 15th to 17th November 2018. It covered topics such as the writings of travelers and orientalists about Christianity,Popular folklore - social and economic life, Christian figures that influenced their communities, Architectural aspects and Christian arts. Prof. Argárate's paper there dealt with “Egypt in the Fourth-Century Itinerarium Egeriae”
On 22nd and 223rd of November, the Orthodox Centre at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich held a conference on the theme of Orthodox theology in the European context. Prof. Argárate talked about the contribution of Romanian Orthodoxy to the Christian identity of Europe and the inner-Christian dialogue. The conference marked two significant dates for the Romanian Orthodox Church: 100 years of Romanian unity and 25 years since the death of its most prominent theologian, Dumitru Stăniloae.
