Different to Gnosticism (no system of aeons). The God of the OT is not the Father of the NT. Docetism. OT still had value as an ethical code but restricted to the Jews. First attempt to produce a canon (one Gospel, Luke, 10 expurgated Pauline letters[apostolikon]. Its effect was to develop a canon and study the relationship between OT & NT.
