The subject is very varied. First half deals with general aspects of the Christian life, such as fasting (1), prayer (4), and the ascetical life (6 and 7). Bnay Qyama (6) also called ihidaye. Second half of the Demonstrations is largely concerned with relations with Judaism. 14, however, is an attack on ecclesiastical malpractice; 21 beginning of persecution under Shapur II. The last Dem is a fine example of the way in which typology functioned as a vehicle for Christian teaching.
