- Licentiate in Philosophy at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba
- Diploma in Theology at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina in Buenos Aires
- PhD degree with the thesis Aeikinetos Stasis: The Dynamics of Being Centered on Unity in Maximus Confessor.
- Active at the Faculty of Theology in Paderborn as well as the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Tübingen,
- 2003 Doctorate (Dr.theol.) in Tübingen with the topic The Holy Spirit in Symeon the New Theologian
- 2003 to 2011 Professor of Patristics and Historical Theology at the Faculty of Theology St. Michael's College, University of Toronto
- since 2011 Director of the Institute of Ecumenical Theology, Eastern Orthodoxy and Patrology
- UNESCO Chair of Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue for Southeastern Europe
- currently Dean at the Faculty
